Baltimore calls itself the “Charm City” reflecting the charm and eclectic appeal of the waterfront and surrounding diverse ethnic neighborhoods. It is a popular tourist destination, a busy harbor, thriving convention site and championship sports city. Most visitors to Baltimore arrive at Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI) just minutes from the city. Amtrak also offers rail service at Penn Station connecting Baltimore to cities in the northeast. Some visitors also include Baltimore as a day trip when staying in nearby Washington DC.
Getting around Baltimore is easy. Rental cars are available at BWI and other city locations. The Mass Transit Authority operates Baltimore transportation via metro light rail and buses throughout downtown and surrounding areas. And, most visitors and locals enjoy traveling between Baltimore restaurants, hotels and attractions in the Inner Harbor, Fell’s Point, Little Italy and Fort McHenry by water shuttle or water taxis.
